La Puerto Rico Tourism Company (PRTC) ha annunciato oggi un aumento dei visitatori in tutta l'isola durante le vacanze di Pasqua e Pasqua e le vacanze di primavera. Dall'isola di Culebra al largo della costa nord-orientale alla regione sud-occidentale di Cabo Rojo, le piccole locande a conduzione familiare ai principali hotel dell'isola, così come a San Juan, erano piene di folle che si godevano le spiagge, le diverse attrazioni e la vita notturna del lungo fine settimana. Questa è la prova della crescente fiducia dei viaggiatori statunitensi nella disponibilità di Porto Rico ad accoglierli di nuovo.
“Da fine dicembre incoraggiamo i viaggiatori a visitare e vedere di persona il nostro ritorno. Oltre al promemoria che uno dei modi migliori in cui le persone possono sostenere Porto Rico è visitare - soggiornare in hotel, mangiare nei ristoranti, godersi le attività della nostra isola e acquistare da aziende locali, il nostro messaggio "siamo aperti al turismo" viene ascoltato forte e chiaro ", ha affermato Carla Campos, Direttore esecutivo facente funzione del PRTC.
Con il recente lancio dei suoi nuovi video online creativi, PRTC sta ricordando ai viaggiatori che Porto Rico è "Pronto per incantarti" e i numeri preliminari delle vacanze di primavera mostrano che molti viaggiatori stanno approfittando dell'isola per quell'offerta. Con i dati che mostrano prestazioni da record tra i 130 hotel che attualmente accolgono i visitatori, le prospettive del turismo sono molto positive per il resto del 2018. Responsabile del contributo di circa il 10% del PIL, il turismo non è solo vitale per l'economia dell'isola - è una pietra angolare dell'agenda di sviluppo economico del governatore Ricardo Rosselló Nevares.
• The Wyndham Rio Mar in Rio Grande on the northeast coast of the Island had a historical weekend, reaching occupancy and overall sales levels never reached before. They welcomed hundreds of travelers who enjoyed yoga classes on-site, holiday festivities throughout the resort and tours to part of the nearby El Yunque, the largest tropical rainforest in the U.S.
• Another popular attraction has been “El Monstruo,” a zipline that spans 28 football fields in Toro Verde Nature Adventure Park in Orocovis, a town in the center of the Island.

• Saborea Puerto Rico, a culinary extravaganza, will welcome thousands of international foodies this week, too. For the past ten years, Saborea has been the culinary highlight event of the year, synonymous with world-class cooking, and has continued to position Puerto Rico as the Culinary Capital of the Caribbean.
• And mid-month, thousands of Minnesota Twins and Cleveland Indians fans will flock to the Island for the Puerto Rico series on April 17-18 at the Hiram Bithorn stadium in San Juan. The games, which will be the first MLB regular-season contests in Puerto Rico since 2010, will be extra special as Indians catcher Roberto Perez and shortstop Francisco Lindor are from Puerto Rico and will be heading back home. Minnesota players Jose Berrios, Eddie Rosario and Kennys Vargas will also be taking stage to share in their Island’s pride.
